Vascular Laser |
With the SynchroPlay Laser, leg thread veins, spider veins and other vascular anomalies can be specifically treated with the latest in laser technology. This laser enables us to treat vascular problems safely, effectively and comfortably. |

How does the laser work? The long pulse ND:Yag technology penetrates the vascular regions without affecting the melanin in the upper skin regions and disrupts the visible vessels. The laser is a high energy beam of light with a wavelength specific to selectively absorb the red blood cells. The absorption of the light energy causes destruction of the target tissue with minimal damage to surrounding tissues. What does the treatment involve? Following consultation a test patch may be performed. The hand piece has two settings; a pencil like tip for treating very fine vessels and a larger hand piece for other vessels. Special goggles are worn to protect the eyes. The skin is cooled before and after treatment. There may be a slight stinging during the treatment, which is quickly relieved. We may be unable to treat every vessel with one treatment and therefore you may need a second session. What will it look like after the treatment? The treated area may be slightly pink and swollen. This is your skins normal reaction to mild trauma. In some people this may persist for a few days. Spider veins tend to disappear at the time of treatment; however reappear as smudged vessels in the next 24 hours. In some cases the larger vessels may go a little darker (brownish). This is a normal reaction. These reactions can last for a few weeks following treatment. In some instances the area may for little blister type lumps. It is important not to pick these as there is the potential to cause scarring. For the first few hours after treatment keep the area cool using an eye pack or similar. If the area blisters then apply a small amount of Vaseline/petroleum jelly until healed. Treatment Maintenance We will review your progress 10-12 weeks after treatment. This time frame allows us to see the maximum new collagen deposition and to assess the success of the treatment. At this stage we can review you're before and after photos. We will also discuss a skin care and treatment maintenance program with you to help maintain optimal results.
