Frequently Asked Questions
Rhinoplasty
Can we guarantee the outcome?
Unfortunately no. The preoperative discussion is to ensure that we both know what the unwanted features of the nose are and what the plan is to fix them. Not everybody's nose can be turned into their favourite celebrity's nose due to differences in the basic shape of the cartilage, and thickness of the skin. The surgery only controls about 95% of the outcome, the rest is determined by the persons healing.

Medical Needling
What is Needling?
Medical Needling involves using a roller to which dozens of fine, very sharp medical needles are attached. Rolling these firmly over the skin causes dozens of fine holes to be cut into the deep layers of the skin, which helps to stimulate new collagen growth.
Will the procedure need to be done more than once?
Although noticeable results may be obtained with a single Medical Needling procedure, patients may wish to repeat the procedure to gain an even greater improvement.
Is there any recovery time?
The skin will look very red and bruised for the first two days. Make-up can be worn after two days to cover up any remaining signs of the procedure.

Laser Skin Resurfacing
How long is the recovery?
With erbium laser the healing is quicker (than C02 laser). The skin is usually healed in five to seven days but it is still very delicate and pink. The pinkness usually lasts from two to four weeks. It can be hidden by make up.
Is it painful?
Generally it is not painful but there is some discomfort. After three days it becomes itchy.

Wrinker Relaxer
Will I be expressionless?
No! The treatment is to reduce excess movement in specific overactive muscles. Even in successful treatments the idea is to reduce movement to stop folding and creasing, not to be motionless.
How long does it last?
The first time you have a wrinkle relaxer it may only last three months. With regular use it tends to extend out to four to five months. Some of our patients state that it lasts over eight months. It is important to understand that a wrinkle relaxer is part of an ongoing maintenance program.

Fat Transfer

Peels

Acne Scar Treatment
Will laser resurfacing remove all of my scars?
Unfortunately not. Acne scars go all the way through the skin and even affect the tissues below the skin. Laser resurfacing can give significant improvement (by which we mean a 50% improvement). Even with combined treatment the scars are never totally removed.

Hair Removal
Will all the hair be removed?
No. The Intense Pulsed Light can penetrate only a certain depth into the skin. Some hair follicles will penetrate deeper than the light can penetrate. Usually between 60% and 80% of hair can be removed. The remaining hair is often thinner and paler.
Can any hair be treated?
Very pale hair is difficult to treat because there is not enough pigment to absorb the light energy. Dark skin types are more difficult to treat because the skin absorbs the energy.
